Greetings to you My Brothers and Sisters in Christ

I am the Parish Priest of the new Syro-malabar Catholic Parish of Dwarka, New Delhi erected in 2005. The Syro-malabar Christians mostly migrated from Kerala account for about one hundred families in Dwaraka. It is to sadly mention here that there is no church for this fast growing community. It has been the long cherished wish of the community to have a church of their own where they could get together, nourished by prayer and participate in the celebration of the Eucharist.

Also there is a need for a place for coordination of social service activities like a shelter home for street children, rehabilitation of disabled and mentally retarded children, a Counseling Centre for those in distress and those suffering from depression and related condition and Care Centre for the aged. The need for our own premises has been felt all the more because it is inconvenient and expensive to hold our activities in rented accommodation. Besides, number of parishioners would like to attend Holy Mass daily as against only the Sunday mass that we are able to celebrate in a private school.

After considerable search and deliberations we have been able to apply to DDA for a 400 sq. mt. plot of land. The cost of the land is around Rs.65 lakh. In addition, we will have to incur the cost of the construction of the building and for social service activities.

While we have already started collecting contributions form the parishioners, it will not be possible to raise the entire amount from local sources, because most of them are salaried people with limited resources. Therefore, we are approaching our friends and well-wishers for their generous contributions. I trust you will be able to help us in this noble cause, for which you will definitely receive showers of blessings from the God Lord abundantly.
